Methylene Blue has been safely used in clinical settings for many years. Human studies have shown that it is well tolerated when taken in appropriate amounts. Doses used in studies are typically below 2 milligrams per kilogram of body weight, which is about 140 milligrams for a person who weighs 70 kilograms (approximately 154 pounds). However, many people find methylene blue to be effective at 5-20mg per day.

Recent clinical trials have shown promising results, including noticeable improvements in cognitive performance and a reduction in brain volume loss. No negative side effects were reported.

Some brands may claim their product is “heavy metal free,” but this can be misleading. What they often mean is that their lab results show “non-detectable” levels based on the detection limits of their test which is not the same as truly zero. For example, a result of 0.004 mg may be rounded down to 0 mg on a report, but it does not mean the substance is entirely free of that element. A common and well-supported approach to using Methylene Blue is to begin with a low amount and slowly increase, depending on how your body responds.

For our 1% solution, start with 8 to 12 drops on the first day.

For our 2% solution, begin with 4 to 6 drops.

This delivers approximately 4-6 milligrams of Methylene Blue, which allows you to observe how your body reacts.

You can gradually increase to 10 drops for 1% or 5 drops for 2%, which provides around 5 milligrams. From there, continue increasing only as needed based on how you feel. Many people find an effective dose to be around 5-20mg per day.

Many people choose to take two rest days per week, allowing the body a short break.

Yes, it’s very likely that your urine will turn blue or blue-green after taking Methylene Blue. This is completely normal and expected. The compound is excreted through the kidneys, and its strong pigmentation gives urine a noticeable tint, even at low doses.
